How do I find a flat in Stockholm?
How does the rental market work in Sweden and what are my best chances to find a flat in Stockholm?
i know some link you can search
those so far are the most popular
try putting some adds near the place where u would like to have ur flat, if second handed, e.g like market places.
Go to Stockholm university or Södertörns högskola and look at the noticeboards (anslagstavlor). Many people put up notes/adds about apartments. Another thing is to go studentapartment-area Lappkärrsberget close to Stockholm university. Many students wan't hire out ther apartment while they are travelling abroud. Good luck.
Short answer: It doesn't.
Long answer: Swedish people usually don't rent flats, they buy them. I know it's weird, but this is the way this seems to work here. Only immigrants rent, and the few apartment blocks that are still possible to rent are usually "shady" and have long waiting lists (up to two years is *normal* here!).
You probably have the best chances renting a student room, or renting secondhand. There are pages for looking for secondhand rentals too, but I sadly lost the links.
If you are a student, ask your student union representative for help.
After a long search with these words "hyra" et "lagenhet" :
www.bostaddirekt.com
www.andrahandsguiden.com
www.ny-bostad.se
www.hyrplatsen.se
www.hyrarum.se
I finally had a proposition of a colleague at my office !
+ don't hesitate to tell everybody that you are searching, multiply contacts means multiply your chance to get one.
